Data Request & Privacy Rights
Effective date: August 18, 2026 · Last updated: August 18, 2026 · Version 2026-08-v1
This page explains how to make a privacy request and how Recreation.city handles it. You can start most requests yourself from Privacy Choices.
What you can request
- A copy of the information associated with your account
- Correction of information that is wrong or out of date
- Deletion of your account and associated personal information
- Withdrawal of marketing consent
- A change to your cookie preferences
- An explanation of how a particular feature uses your information
How to make a request
Signed-in users can use Privacy Choices to download data, update details, manage communication and cookie preferences, and request deletion.
You can also email privacy@recreation.city from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will only ask for what is necessary to do so.
Timing and outcomes
We acknowledge requests when we receive them and aim to complete them promptly, and within the period required by the law that applies to you. If we cannot fully action a request — for example where information must be kept for security, dispute resolution or a legal obligation — we explain why.
There is no charge for a reasonable request. We may decline requests that are repetitive or excessive, and we will tell you if we do.
Authorised agents and appeals
Where applicable law allows an authorised agent to make a request for you, we will ask for proof of authorisation. If you disagree with our decision, reply to our response and we will review it; you may also contact your local privacy regulator.
